Subject: Fairtrade Newsflash - Green & Black's to significantly expand its Fairtrade Certified range this year
Dear Fairtrade Supporter
Fairtrade is pleased to announce that the vast majority of Green & Black’s chocolate range will soon be Fairtrade Certified™!While its Maya Gold chocolate bar already carries the Fairtrade Label, most other varieties will bear the Label from September 2010, and the entire Green & Black’s block chocolate and beverages range is expected to be Fairtrade Certified™ by the end of 2011.
This move will create a fairer and more secure future for the thousands of Dominican Republic cocoa farmers who supply the majority of cocoa for Green & Black’s products. Today’s commitment by Green & Black’s to Fairtrade will result in an investment of approximately AU$540,000 a year through additional Fairtrade Premiums paid to Dominican Republic cocoa farmers and their communities.
