Charging your mobile phone

Switch off your mobile phone charger when finished charging....... If you don't it will keep drawing almost as much energy as when charging and you will generate 35-70 kg of avoidable CO2 each year. In fact 95% of the energy used by mobile phone chargers in the UK is wasted energy.

Mobile Phones Needed

Hello Karuna Green Team!

Great work on the phone recycling. We've already raised so much for Karuna.

Make sure you continue to spread the word and get your friends and family to bring in their old mobile phones for recycling, to help Karuna and to help save the environment.

Also, be on the lookout for new locations where we can set up collection bins. Some places we might like to try are local schools etc.

Fairtrade Labelling of Australia and New Zealand is pleased to announce that the 250g Whittaker’s Creamy Milk block is now Fairtrade Certified and will soon be in a store near you.

The choice of chocolate open to Fairtrade supporters is increasing rapidly. Not just Cadbury’s Dairy Milk but now the whole Green & Black’s range…

Fairtrade is pleased to announce that the vast majority of Green & Black’s chocolate range will soon be Fairtrade Certified™!

While its Maya Gold chocolate bar already carries the Fairtrade Label, most other varieties will bear the Label from September 2010, and the entire Green & Black’s block chocolate and beverages range is expected to be Fairtrade Certified™ by the end of 2011.

This move will create a fairer and more secure future for the thousands of Dominican Republic cocoa farmers who supply the majority of cocoa for Green & Black’s products. Today’s commitment by Green & Black’s to Fairtrade will result in an investment of approximately AU$540,000 a year through additional Fairtrade Premiums paid to Dominican Republic cocoa farmers and their communities.
